Supplementary Education Project is the first project started by Marylebone Bangladesh Society back in 1979. This project focuses particularly on teaching children Bengali mother tongue and the Bengali culture. Students participate in different Bangladeshi national celebration days organised by MBS.
In addition, it is providing support for Maths and English between Key Stages 1 to 4 following the National Curriculum guidelines, helping them to gain better academic achievements in their mainstream education. Currently the Supplementary Education Project is based in Gateway Primary School, which is a local primary school. There are over 70 pupils aged from 6 to 14 and there are 4 teachers and number a of volunteers.
School opens every Saturday from 9.30am to 1.30pm during terms time. For further information, please contact Rana Rahman.
